TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 24, 2021) – The No. 8 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team picked up its fourth straight win Saturday.
SLCC defeated Truckee Meadows Community College, 4-0, scoring three goals in the first half. The win improved the Bruins' overall record to 5-1 and Scenic West Athletic Conference record to 4-1.
Salt Lake got on the board in the 13
th minute when
Kallyn Chynoweth scored the first goal of the match.
Ashlyn Hall scored the next two goals for Salt Lake. The freshman forward got both goals before halftime, with her first coming in the 39
th minute and her second just six minutes later. The Bruins' final goal came in the 71
st minute on a penalty kick by
Anna Pinegar.
SLCC played well on the defensive side of the ball, holding the Lizards to zero shots on goal. Salt Lake coupled that with a good offensive attack, resulting in nine corner kicks throughout the match.
The Bruins will return to the pitch Thursday afternoon when hosting Southern Nevada at 1:00 pm.
