TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 2, 2021) – The 2021 spring season is off to a thrilling start for the No. 5 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team.

The Bruins earned a 2-0 victory over non-conference foe Trinidad State at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. Salt Lake will start the year with a 1-0 mark in its lone non-conference match of the season.
SLCC got on the board early in the match, thanks to a goal in the 11th minute by
Samuel Owusu. The Bruins added to the advantage later with a
Ryen Jiba goal in the 61st minute.
SLCC held a 12-8 advantage in total shots, with a 6-2 edge in shots-on-goal. Additionally, Bruins goalkeeper
Jose Arellano preserved a shutout victory, making two saves in the win.Â

Salt Lake will open Scenic West Athletic Conference play next weekend with a matchup at Snow College.
