TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 17, 2021) - Playing in its second match in three days, No. 2 ranked Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team remained unbeaten in a victory over Utah State Eastern.
The Bruins defeated their Scenic West Athletic Conference rival, 2-0, extending SLCC's win streak against the Eagles to nine matches. Following the win, Salt Lake moved to 5-0 on the year and 4-0 in SWAC play.
The match remained scoreless for the first 52 minutes. A
Samuel Owusu goal broke the tie and gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead. SLCC's second goal of the match came in the 88
th minute off the foot of
Santiago Delfino who was assisted by
Ryen Jiba.
Salt Lake was the aggressor throughout the match, tallying more corner kicks, shots, and shots on goal than the Eagles. With the win, SLCC secured its fourth shutout of the season and increased its goal difference to +23.
The Bruins will look to stay unbeaten when facing off against Truckee Meadows Community College next Saturday.
