TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 5, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College baseball team continued to a sweeping victory over Colorado Northwestern in a Scenic West doubleheader Friday.

SLCC earned a 4-0 win in game one and took a 3-2 loss in game two, boosting the Bruins to 2-1 in the series. SLCC is now 6-7 overall and 2-1 in league play.

The Bruins will close the series with the Spartans on Saturday with a game at 12:00 p.m. at Cate Field.

Jake Wilson started strong, throwing five innings and allowing just four hits while striking out a trio of CNCC batters. Offensively, an RBI single by
Sean Keating in the second inning upped an early Salt Lake lead to 2-0. A
Dalton Hodge RBI double in the sixth inning was another offensive highlight.Â
Keating and
Travis Johnson both finished 2-of-3 at the plate.Â
Colorado Northwestern 3, Salt Lake 2: An early Salt Lake lead was unable to hold up in a late loss.
After trailing early, the Bruins claimed a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning thanks to a
Dalton Hodge RBI double and a
Jake Herman RBI. Hodge led SLCC, going 1-of-3 at the plate. Daxton Purse suffered the pitching loss.Â
