TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 6, 2021) – A full tank of momentum will accompany the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Soccer team as they make their way to the NJCAA tournament, thanks to Saturday's dominant postseason victory.
SLCC earned a 2-1 win over Arizona Western College in the NJCAA West District championship match, keeping their unbeaten season alive in defense of their Spring 2021 NJCAA title. The Bruins are now 17-0 overall with the win.

Mark Davis said the win is indicative of how the Bruins compete.
"Our players just continue to find ways to win," he said. "Arizona Western is a strong program filled with good players, yet our guys find ways to make the plays they need to make. We're ecstatic to be moving on to the NJCAA tournament."
Kai Phillip was the key player for Salt Lake in the win, with Phillip scoring both goals in the win. A

Arizona Western held a narrow 13-11 advantage in total shots over Salt Lake, with the Bruins holding an 8-5 edge in shots-on-goal. SLCC's defense was critical in the win, with Bruins goalkeeper
Christian Olivares making four saves in the victory.
Salt Lake will now await the announcement of its seed and opponents in the upcoming NJCAA tournament, which will be held starting Nov. 20 in Tyler, Texas.
