Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 4, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team fell in a non-conference road game in Texas Thursday.
SLCC lost a close 66-58 game to Midland College in a Texas-based tournament, falling after trailing 34-33 at halftime. The Bruins are now 1-1 overall with the loss.
Both Salt Lake and Midland fought back-and-forth for the first half, with Midland taking an 18-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. SLCC battled back to get the score within a point at the break, prior to Midland going on a 21-13 run in the third quarter.
Naelle Bernard posted 16 points to lead the Bruins, while
Hennessey Luu-Brown scored 14 points.
Finau Tonga had 12 points off the bench for SLCC.
Salt Lake will close the three-game road trip Friday, playing host Odessa College in the final game of the tournament.
