TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 17, 2021) - After a rough stretch in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, the No. 6 Salt Lake Community College Women's Soccer program found some much needed momentum this week.
Just days after a strong win over Colorado Northwestern Community College, the Bruins responded with an impressive 2-0 win over Truckee Meadows Community College Sunday at Zions Bank Stadium. Salt Lake is now 9-3-1 overall, sporting a mark of 7-3-0 in Scenic West play.
SLCC's
Kallyn Chynoweth took it upon herself to lift the Bruins to a victory, scoring both goals in the win. Chynoweth posted her first goal in the 13th minute, scoring on an
Aly Starbuck assist. She then scored minutes later, converting a goal in the 20th minute on a
Cecilia Norman assist.Â
Salt Lake controlled the pace of the match, finishing with an 11-4 edge in total shots. Bruins goalkeeper
Katrina Gardner made a save in the win.
SLCC will host a pair of matches this week to close the regular season, hosting Southern Nevada Thursday and Community Christian on Saturday.Â
