TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 17, 2021) - A Scenic West Athletic Conference defensive battle ended in victory for the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Soccer program Sunday.
The Bruins earned a close 1-0 win over visiting Truckee Meadows Community College, giving Salt Lake its ninth shutout victory of the Fall 2021 season. SLCC is now a perfect 12-0 overall, with a mark of 9-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference.Â
Kai Phillip scored the lone goal of the match for Salt Lake, netting a goal in the 60th minute on a
Ryen Jiba assist. SLCC held a 15-1 advantage in total shots, with Bruins goalkeeper
Christian Olivares making a save in the win.
Salt Lake will close the regular season at home this week, facing off against Southern Nevada and Community Christian.Â
