TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 13, 2021) - Don't look now, but the No. 4 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball program continues to build new standards of performance.
The Bruins powered to a strong 3-0 win over longtime regional rival Southern Idaho, earning its third consecutive set sweep by scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-7. Salt Lake is now 20-3 overall, with a mark of 6-0 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. Salt Lake's winning streak is now up to 17 games.
SLCC dominated the match statistically, hitting .414 while holding Southern Idaho to -.023. The Bruins forced CSI into 20 errors, while Salt Lake finished with 43 kills compared to just 7 hitting errors. Defensively, SLCC's frontline posted 10 blocks.Â
Sunny Brown led Salt Lake with 11 kills, while
Anastasia Tuifua posted 9 kills.
Hikialani Kaohelaulii posted 11 digs, while
Laura Fiabane helped Salt Lake's offensive attack with 37 assists.
The Bruins will now have a week off, returning to play in a home match against in-state rival USU Eastern on Thursday, Oct. 21.Â
