HERRIMAN, Utah (November 1, 2019) – The All-Region 18 Men's Soccer team was announced Friday and it should come as no surprise that Salt Lake Community College was well-represented on the list.

After a 2019 season where the Bruins were ranked as high as No. 3 in the NJCAA polls and had a record of 10-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play, SLCC placed a league-high 6 student-athletes on the All-Region 18 team list. Additionally, Salt Lake's
Ryen Jiba was named Region 18 Player-of-the-Year and
Isaac Roy was named Region 18 Co-Goalie of the Year, sharing the honor with Snow's Jason Mayers. SLCC coach
Mark Davis was named Region 18 Coach-of-the-Year.

Jiba finished with 11 goals in the 2019 season, playing in all 12 of SLCC's matches. He also contributed 6 assists. At goal, Roy had 4 shutouts during the season while allowing just 8 goals and making 19 saves for the Bruins. For Snow, Mayers made 34 saves while allowing 11 goals. Davis led Salt Lake to its second-consecutive SWAC title as head coach, helping the team to its first perfect conference season.

The All-Region 18 First Team included three players from both Salt Lake Community College and Snow College. Salt Lake's representatives on the list include:
Daniel Mulholland,
Samuel Owusu, and
Omar Gomez; Snow's representatives on the list include: Ryuya Mirua, Mitchell Pyle and Shanden Vergara. The College of Southern Nevada placed two players on the First Team: Ivan Enciso and Jesus Gonzalez. USU Eastern was represented by Parker Huff and Colorado Northwestern placed Turner West on the team. First-year Scenic West member Truckee Meadows was represented by Erick Ceja Gonzalez.

The All-Region 18 Second Team was led by three players each from Salt Lake and Snow, again. Salt Lake's Second Team representatives included
Luke Merrill,
Dalton Gibson and Ntzey Swalita, while Snow's were Jaydon Humphries, Eric Gomez and Leonardo dos Santos. Southern Nevada placed Alfredo Diaz and Ricardo Galvan on the team, while USU Eastern was represented by Talmage Woodhouse and Alexander Tholen. Truckee Meadows's Brendin Lane and Colorado Northwestern's Robert Martinez also made the list.

The Region 18 championships are scheduled for Saturday at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. The men's championship match is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
