TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 24, 2019) - Â The No. 15 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team has just three matches left in the regular season, with sights set on finishing with momentum.
The Bruins are well on their way with that goal in mind, thanks to a 3-0 sweeping victory over the College of Southern Nevada Thursday evening inside the Lifetime Activities Center. SLCC dominated the match, moving to 22-8 and 5-3 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
In a first set that went back-and-forth, it was actually Southern Nevada who held a 20-18 lead before SLCC closed on a run to claim the opening set. From there, the Bruins climbed to strong victories in the next two sets for the sweep.
Salt Lake held a 40-28 advantage in kills and a 7-2 advantage in aces in the controlling win.
Ariane Pola and
Kenadee Christensen finished with team-highs with 8 kills, while
Sidney Frith and
Bruna Correa combined for 33 assists.Â
The Bruins will play on Saturday against nationally-ranked Snow College in a Scenic West showdown. The match is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start inside the Lifetime Activities Center.Â
