TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 24, 2018) - Two games in and the Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team is powering towards a strong season.
The Bruins picked up a 5-0 shutout victory over Northwest College Friday, moving to 2-0 on the season. SLCCÂ dominated the game, holding a 43-0 edge in shots-on-goal.
Sarah Spencer started things off for Salt Lake, earning a goal in the 16th minute on an assist from
Kamryn Worthington. A few minutes later,
Zoe Moses scored the first of her two goals to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead.
Baylie Saunders and
Madison Schmidt also scored goals for SLCC in the match. Schmidt also had a pair of assists.Â
"Our girls played well and got another shutout victory," said SLCC coach
Mark Davis. "This was a good result for us to get our second win."
Salt Lake's preseason will continue with a matchup against the Utah Valley University Soccer Club on Tuesday. The matchup is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start and will be played at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.Â
