Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 1, 2018) - The good times of the preseason had to end at some point for the No. 8 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team.

Facing off against No. 10 Florida Southwestern Community College in a preseason matchup, the Bruins were hoping that their preseason success would continue to press on. Instead, SLCC fell on the wrong side of a close-fought battle, falling 80-74 to close out a tournament filled with nationally-ranked opponents. The loss drops Salt Lake's overall record to 9-2.

Florida Southwestern utilized their size to control the glass, but Salt Lake countered by controlling the tempo masterfully. SLCC guard Josh Colon also helped lock down on an opposing guard who has committed to play for LSU, taking three charges.

One of Salt Lake's recent NCAA commits, St. John's commit Cameron Mack, led the Bruins with 39 points. 

The Bruins will return home to host another preseason tournament next weekend, hosting games Thursday-to-Saturday inside the Lifetime Activities Center. SLCC will play Rexburg United on Thursday and Green River College on Saturday. Thursday's game will start at 6:00 p.m.
