Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 24, 2018) - With the way the No. 17 Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team played at home this weekend, it's no wonder the Bruins are interested in playing as frequently as possible inside the Lifetime Activities Center.
Salt Lake moved to 7-2 on the season and 2-0 at home with a victory Saturday, as the Bruins downed Casper College 65-60 in the final game of the SLCC Thankgiving Tournament. The win gives SLCC a three-game winning streak.
The Bruins held a 31-20 lead at halftime, after holding Casper College to just 24 percent shooting in the first half. Casper shot just 33.9 percent for the entire game, while Salt Lake had a consistently strong game throughout the entire offense. SLCC also controlled the boards, finishing with 42-33 rebounding advantage.
Laura Pichot led the Bruins in scoring with 19 points, making 6-of-9 shots in the win.
Emma Villas-Gomis finished with 12 points, while
Leichan Williams finished with 11 points.
Hazel Fui also scored 10 points in the win.Â
The Bruins will play next on Friday, Nov. 30, as they face off against Georgia Highlands College in a tournament hosted by Southern Idaho. Salt Lake will also play Williston State College in the tourney.
