TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 16, 2018) - Home-cooking has done the No. 8 Salt Lake Community College men's basketball team well.
The Bruins are a perfect 2-0 inside the Lifetime Activities Center this season, thanks to a blowout 88-58 victory over Saddleback College Friday in the opening game of the 'Bruin Classic' tourney. Salt Lake led by 17 points at halftime, never looking back in the blowout victory. The win moves SLCC's overall record to 4-1 to start the season.
SLCCÂ never trailed in the game, a statistic that was exemplified by a 44-24 advantage in points-in-the-paint and a 35-20 advantage in bench points. Salt Lake shot an exemplary 56.67 percent in the first half (17-of-30), finishing the game with four scorers in double-figures.Â
Josh Colon led Salt Lake with 16 points, while
Hunter Schofield contributed 15 points.
Cameron Mack and
Aaron Burt finished with 11 points for SLCC, while recent Washington State signee
Daron Henson had 7 points in 24 minutes.
Salt Lake will play at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday in the final game of the tourney, hosting Umpqua College. The Bruins also have a home tournament next weekend, as they host the program's annual Thanksgiving weekend tourney.Â
