Chris Tellesbo enters his sixth season and his third as associate head coach at Salt Lake Community College with head coach Shay Goulding Meurer. Tellesbo helped oversee an SLCC program that rose to fifth in the NJCAA rankings during the 2025 campaign.

Salt Lake won the 2025 Scenic West regular season crown with a 9-1 conference record and finished the year 27-6 overall, including a 14-match winning streak. The Bruins returned to the NJCAA national tournament for the third time under Tellesbo after winning the Region 18 and Rocky Mountain District championships.

Salt Lake is 124-33 (.790) overall and 43-7 (.860) in conference action with Tellesbo offering instruction.

Over the past five seasons, 35 Bruins have earned NJCAA All-Academic recognition, 21 secured All-Region honors, and six achieved All-America status. Five players from Salt Lake’s 2025 team transferred to four-year institutions, with another five returning for the 2026 season.

A University of Utah graduate, Tellesbo has bachelor's degrees in both physics and applied mathematics, as well as a master's in physics. He studied astrophysics and planetary dynamics and spent a semester interning for NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center.

Tellesbo leads Salt Lake in scouting, recruiting, tech, and operations, while also serving as the program’s academic advisor. On the floor, he is the team’s offensive coordinator and service analyst.Â
