TWIN FALLS, Idaho (Saturday, September 7, 2024)- No. 5 Salt Lake won both of their Saturday matches at the Starr Corporation Invite to go 3-1 on the week. 

The Bruins beat Northeastern Junior College in five sets to get the day going. Salt Lake won the thrilling fifth set 17-15. "We showed real composure and grit in a tough, punch for punch match with NJC," said head Coach Shay Goulding Meurer. 

 SLCC beat Casper College in straight sets to finish up the weekend. "The stakes were high and we continued to serve aggressively when scores were tight. The steadiness of our passing allowed us to attack point for point." The Bruins are now (9-4) on the year.

The Bruins will host the First Intermountain Invite September 12-14 in Taylorsville. Salt will play the New Mexico Military Institute on Thursday at 5:00, two games Friday against Weatherford College and Seward County Community College, and Saturday versus Trinity Valley Community College.
