TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 1, 2023) – The No. 14 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team had a successful day Friday.

SLCC earned wins over a pair of nationally ranked foes in its 'Crystal "Inn"vitational' tournament, earning a 3-1 win over Odessa (25-14, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23) and a 3-1 win over Western Nebraska (25-13, 19-25, 25-21, 25-16). The Bruins are now 7-4 after the victories.

Salt Lake will close the tournament with No. 2 Miami Dade on Saturday.

Salt Lake 3, Odessa 1: SLCC posted 11 services on the way to an impressive win over Odessa.

The Bruins hit .172 in the match, posting 49 kills. Marija Tabak had 14 kills, while Tessa Treanor had 11 kills. Emmalei Mapu posted 10 kills.

Brinlie Crosbie had 35 assists in the win.

Salt Lake 3, Western Nebraska 1: The Bruins hit a crisp .259 in the victory over Western Nebraska.

Tessa Treanor had 12 kills, while Marija Tabak had 10 kills. Salt Lake also had 13 service aces in the win.
