Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 15, 2023) – The 2023 NJCAA tournament is officially underway for the No. 4 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team, in thrilling fashion no less.
SLCC earned a 3-2 win over No. 13 Indian Hills Thursday, with the Bruins holding off an upstart IHCC team in a 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 15-7 victory. The win lifts Salt Lake to 26-5 overall, along with helping SLCC into the NJCAA quarterfinals.
In a match that went back-and-forth, SLCC held on in the fifth set by hitting .533, posting no errors in the final set. Salt Lake hit .236 as a team in the match overall, with Marija Tabak hitting 17 kills. Tessa Treanor also contributed 16 kills.Â
Tabak, Randi Reeves and Brinlie Crosbie also had three aces each. Crosbie finished with 51 assists in the win. Reeves posted 23 digs in the win.
SLCC will play No. 5 Trinity Valley in the NJCAA quarterfinals on Thursday. The winner will advance to Friday's semifinals, while the loser will fall into the consolation bracket.Â
