Bruins coach
Isaac Wood said his team is looking forward to competing against local programs like BYU and Westminster.
"We are hoping for it to be a cooler day than our opener last week and to treat the race as more of a workout with a small race portion at the end," he said. "(Several local schools) will be there so it'll be fun to race them and see where we stack up."
Wood said his coaching style continues to be positive to help build the growing Bruins.
"I'm a very 'positive reinforcement' style of coach so I do heap a lot of praise on my athletes," he said. "The stuff I will correct is when I feel like an ego is getting in the way of our team having a positive culture - so like doing their own thing in a workout and not following the prescribed plan - or it could just be a minor drill error that we can fix."
Men's Soccer: The No. 2 Bruins will look to build on an undefeated start to the season in a pair of road matches this weekend.
SLCC will face regional rival USU Eastern Thursday, then will travel on for a match against Colorado Northwestern on Saturday. The Bruins will be on the road for the next three matches.
Volleyball: After a thrilling non-conference victory Thursday, the No. 6 SLCC Volleyball team will take to the road for its final preseason tournament.
