Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 10, 2022) – All things considered, it was a pretty good weekend for the No. 6 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team.
The Bruins earned a perfect mark of 4-0 in a preseason tournament hosted by the College of Southern Idaho, earning a 3-0 win over No. 20 Monroe College and a 3-1 win over Western Wyoming in Saturday's action. SLCC is now 14-2 after the victories.
Salt Lake will travel to play at Western Wyoming in a non-conference matchup this week.
Salt Lake 3, No. 20 Monroe 0: SLCC earned a 25-9, 25-21, 25-19 over No. 20 Monroe to open the day's action.
Laura Fiabane posted an impressive 50 assists in just three sets, helping lead the Bruins to a .357 team hitting percentage.
Annie Michaelis led Salt Lake with 15 kills, while
Charity Wilson posted 12 kills and 10 digs.
Salt Lake 3, Western Wyoming 1: The Bruins posted a win of 23-25, 25-14, 25-13, 25-13 to finish the tournament undefeated.
Sandora Sasaki posted 20 kills to lead Salt Lake, good for a hitting percentage of .567.
Laura Fiabane also had 44 assists and 10 digs.
Both Fiabane and
Kennady Charlton finished with four aces each, part of Salt Lake posting 15 team aces.
