No. 8 SLCC Women’s Soccer downs No. 13 Arizona Western in NJCAA Western District final

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 5, 2022) – The No. 8 Salt Lake Community College Women's Soccer team is headed back to the NJCAA tournament.

SLCC has qualified for its third consecutive national tournament thanks to a 5-3 shootout win over No. 13 Arizona Western College, giving the Bruins the NJCAA Western District title. Salt Lake is now 12-3 overall.

In a match that was a stalemate, it took Salt Lake getting to penalty kicks for the Bruins to shine. Wiesiolek also made a pair of saves, including making a save right before converting a goal of her own.

The match came down to SLCC following its game plan, according to Bruins coach Cassie Ulrich.

"We controlled possession and eliminated Arizona Western's main threat, which is their direct play," said Ulrich.

Salt Lake will await its seeding in the upcoming NJCAA tournament. The tournament is scheduled to begin on November 13 in Georgia.
