TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 19, 2022) – A longtime regional foe tripped up the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team on 'Sophomore Night' Wednesday.

The Bruins lost a 3-2 decision to the College of Southern Idaho, falling by set scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 18-25, 18-20. The loss is SLCC's first in Scenic West Athletic Conference play this season, giving Salt Lake a mark of 23-3 overall and 7-1 in Scenic West matches.

SLCC struggled offensively throughout the match, hitting just .218 and committing 24 errors.
Sammy Perry had 14 kills to lead the Bruins, while
Brenley Hansen finished with 8 kills.

Salt Lake will return to play on Thursday, October 27, with a match at USU Eastern. The Bruins will close the season on October 29 against Colorado Northwestern Community College.
