TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 12, 2022) – The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College Men's Soccer team opened a week of Scenic West Athletic Conference play in the same manner its opened every week in 2022 – with a win.
SLCC earned a 2-0 win at Southern Nevada on Wednesday, moving to 2-0 against the Coyotes this season. The victory lifts the Bruins to 9-0 overall and 7-0 in Scenic West matches.
In a match that was competitive, SLCC dominated statistically in categories like total shots (21-5 advantage) but didn't see that success matched on the scoreboard. The Bruins finally got a shot in the net in the 66
thminute as
Ty Sanchez scored off a
Sergio Martinez assist. Sanchez added another goal in the 87
th minute to boost the Bruins to a comfortable margin.
SLCC goalkeeper
Ben Williams played a sizable role in the win, contributing three saves. Both Sanchez and
Santiago Delfino took four shots apiece.
Salt Lake will close this week's road trip with a critical match on Saturday, facing off against No. 14 Snow College in Ephraim.
