Women's Soccer: After falling narrowly in a battle of nationally-ranked foes last week, the Bruins fell a spot to No. 3 in the latest NJCAA rankings.
With a 1-0 loss to No. 2 Snow now in the rear-view mirror, Salt Lake will host USU Eastern and Colorado Northwestern in this week's action. Both matches will be played at 1:00 p.m. at Zions Bank Stadium, with the USU Eastern match coming on Thursday and the CNCC match on Sunday.
Bruins coach
Cassie Ulrich said her team is excited to open Scenic West home matches this week.
"We're excited to play our first home conference games this weekend against USU Eastern and CNCC," she said. "We've had a good weekend of training and have prepared well leading us into these matches. It's important that we get three points from this game as we move deeper into conference play."
Volleyball: A string of recent victories over nationally-ranked foes have lifted the Bruins into the No. 8 spot in the latest NJCAA polls, with Salt Lake preparing to play in its final preseason tournament this weekend in Idaho.
SLCC will travel to play in a four-match tournament hosted by the College of Southern Idaho, facing off against No. 13 Central Wyoming as part of the action. Salt Lake will open the weekend with play against Laramie County and Blue Mountain Friday, and will continue play with Casper College and Central Wyoming on Saturday.Â
Salt Lake coach Shay Goulding Meurer said her team is feeling momentum after weeks of strong play.
"We are coming off two weeks of solid play and tremendous growth," she said. "I like our confidence and our desire to get better. Our focus on serving and passing will continue to be our biggest focus, and will keep us in the attack mode we need to be successful this weekend."
