Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 30, 2021) - The No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Soccer team is still riding high and undefeated.
SLCC earned a thrilling 3-2 win over nationally-ranked Snow College at home, downing the in-state rival to stay undefeated at 9-0 overall and 6-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. The Bruins are now 4-0 at Zions Bank Stadium.
The Bruins opened up a 2-0 lead in the match, with the first goal coming on a
Ryen Jiba score. Jiba then scored later on a
Taimu Okiyoshi assist. Snow responded with vigor, scoring two goals to tie the match at 2-2. However,
Kai Phillip scored the game-winning goal for Salt Lake, turning a
Jeremy Meldrum assist into the goal that propelled the Bruins to a still-undefeated record.Â
Salt Lake held a narrow 10-9 lead in shots. Bruins goalkeeper
Christian Olivares made a save.
SLCC will play next on October 7, traveling to play at Colorado Northwestern.Â
