Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 11, 2021) – Saturdays have been good to the No. 8 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team so far in the Fall 2021 season, and this week was no exception.
Salt Lake earned a clean sweep of Saturday action in a tournament hosted by the College of Southern Idaho, downing No. 8 Central Wyoming in a 3-1 thriller. The Bruins also earned a 3-0 win over Casper College, moving to 13-3 overall.
The Bruins will travel to play Western Wyoming on Wednesday for their lone match of next week. The match will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Rock Springs, Wyo.
Salt Lake 3, Central Wyoming 1: The Bruins played strong and earned a victory over the No. 11 team in the country by set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 26-28, 25-14.
Sandora Sasaki posted 16 kills in the win, hitting .400 in the process.
Hikialani Kaohelaulii finished with 27 digs, while
Anastasia Tuifua posted 11 digs and 10 kills.
Salt Lake 3, Casper 0: SLCC's final match of the tournament was a dominating win, coming in the form of a sweep in set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-23.
Jasmyne Love led SLCC with 10 kills on a hitting percentage of .421.
Hikialani Kaohelaulii finished with 29 digs in the win.
