Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 21, 2021) - The No. 15 Salt Lake Community College volleyball program performed better in the second day of a preseason tournament in New Mexico.
The Bruins picked up a pair of wins in Saturday action, earning a 3-0 sweep through South Mountain Community College (25-19, 25-10, 25-15) and picking up a nailbiting 3-2 win over Pima Community College (25-23, 25-16, 21-25, 22-25, 15-6). The day's results level Salt Lake at 2-2 in the preseason.
SLCC will travel to Florida for a four-match tournament next weekend.Â
Salt Lake 3, South Mountain 0: Sandora Sasaki led Salt Lake to a sweeping win to open Saturday's play.
Sasaki finished with 14 kills in the match, while
Kennady Charlton posted 6 kills.
Hikialani Kaohelaulii posted 18 digs in the win.
Salt Lake 3, Pima 2: An early SLCC lead ended with a back-and-forth win for the Bruins.
Salt Lake posted 14 service aces in the win, with Sasaki finishing with 5 aces. Kaohelaulii had 39 digs, also contributing 4 aces.
Elena Wallace led the team with 9 kills.Â
