Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (June 5, 2021) - The No. 2 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team had an unfortunate result in its NJCAA tournament debut in Wichita, Kan.
SLCC dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 11 Coastal Bend in the NJCAA Division-I Men's Soccer Championships opener Saturday, falling in the opening round of pool play. The team with the highest amount of points out of the tournament's Pool B will advance to the NJCAA semifinals.
In a match that was nailbiting, Coastal Bend scored the match's only goal in the 26th minute on an Owen Thomas unassisted strike. In spite of not scoring, Salt Lake was the aggressor throughout the match, finishing with an 18-7 edge in total shots. SLCC goalie

Salt Lake will play next on Monday, facing off against No. 7 Barton at 2:00 p.m. MDT.Â
