No. 9 SLCC Volleyball falls in Region 18 semifinals to rival Snow

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 5, 2021) – The No. 9 Salt Lake Community College Volleyball program fell in its postseason debut Friday, losing in a Region 18 tournament semifinal in Colorado.

SLCC lost a 3-1 decision to in-state rival Snow College in a Region 18 tournament match at Colorado Northwestern Community College, falling by set scores of 17-25, 23-25, 25-23, 20-25. With the loss, SLCC sits with a mark of 22-6 to end the season.

Salt Lake played well throughout the match, finishing with a respectable hitting percentage of .248. However, Snow's 64 kills and hitting percentage of .303 was too much to counter in a match that went back-and-forth.

Sandora Sasaki led the Bruins with 15 kills, while Jasmyne Love finished with 13 kills. Laura Fiabane posted 45 assists, while Hikialani Kaohelaulii had 23 digs.

Snow will play the winner of a USU Eastern/Southern Idaho semifinal in the Region 18 championship match Saturday.
