Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 7, 2021) – A road match with an in-state Scenic West rival went favorably for the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Soccer team. 
 
SLCC earned a 1-0 win at USU Eastern, earning the series sweep over the Eagles. The Bruins are now 10-0 overall and 7-0 in Scenic West play with the victory.
 
The Bruins and Eagles lived up to the hype of an in-state battle, playing a defensive match that featured numerous highs and lows. Salt Lake's most significant high came from its lone goal of the day, where Sergio Martinez scored on a Taimu Okiyoshi assist in the 8^th minute to take a 1-0 lead. SLCC held a narrow 9-5 edge in shots, with Bruins goalkeeper Christian Olivares playing a strong role in the win with four saves. 
 
Salt Lake will travel to play at Colorado Northwestern Saturday.
