No. 1 SLCC Men's Soccer closes regular season in dominant fashion

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 23, 2021) – Dominant is the word to describe the Fall 2021 regular season for the No. 1 Salt Lake Community College Men's Soccer program.
 
The Bruins earned a 5-0 win over Community Christian College Saturday, finishing the regular season at 14-0 overall and 11-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. Salt Lake will enter next week's Region 18 tournament as the top overall seed.
 
Salt Lake wasted no time taking momentum Saturday, with Ryan Jiba scoring a goal just five minutes into the match. Jiba posted another goal in the 14th minute, with Ty Sanchez scoring an unassisted goal in the 26thminute to give Salt Lake a 3-0 halftime lead.
 
Sanchez scored his second goal of the day in the second half, upping SLCC's lead to 4-0 on an unassisted goal in the 63rd minute. Amadeo Ammuntinato scored the final goal of the day for the Bruins, registering a goal in the 76th minute. Overall, SLCC dominated the match statistically, holding a 27-0 advantage in total shots and a 10-0 margin in shots-on-goal. 
 
Salt Lake will open the Region 18 tournament with matches on Thursday. The tournament will be played at Snow College in Ephraim.
