Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 7, 2019) - A day after falling in disappointing fashion to No. 4 Miami-Dade, the No. 9 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team responded with a pair of strong victories to finish at 3-1 in a four-match tournament hosted by the College of Southern Idaho.
The Bruins went 2-0 in Saturday action at the tournament, earning a 3-1 win over Treasure Valley Community College (25-10, 21-25, 25-22, 25-17) and a 3-0 win over Casper College (25-15, 25-17, 25-13). The wins boost Salt Lake's overall record to 12-1.
Salt Lake will play in a four-match tournament hosted by the College of Southern Nevada next weekend, with SLCC playing a pair of Top-10 programs: Seward County Community College and Miami-Dade College. The Bruins are scheduled to open Scenic West Athletic Conference play on Sept. 26 against USU Eastern.

Ariane Pola had 14 kills and a pair of blocks in the win, while
Holland Vande Merwe finished with 20 digs.

Sidney Frith combined for 53 assists and 20 digs.Â
Salt Lake 3, Casper 0: The Bruins controlled throughout in the set-sweeping victory.
Gwen Russell and
Kaitlynn Bradley both finished with 7 kills while hitting .600, while
Bruna Correa and
Sidney Frith combined for 30 assists in the win.
Rachael Warren also had 4 blocks for SLCC.Â
