TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 27, 2019) - The No. 5 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team will travel to the Silver State for a program-first on Saturday - the Bruins will play a new conference foe in Truckee Meadows Community College.
Salt Lake will take its 5-0-1 overall record and mark of 2-0-1 into Reno to face the TMCC Lizards, an upstart program that is experiencing its first season in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. So far in the season, the Lizards are 5-3 overall and already have a conference win.
Bruins coach
Mark Davis said his team is elated at the opportunity ahead of them this weekend.
"We are excited to go to Reno this weekend," he said. "We have heard good things about Truckee Meadows and we are happy that they have joined our conference for men's and women's soccer. Our team had a very good training session going into this weekend.
For their part, Truckee Meadows opened the season by going 4-0 before losing three-straight matches in league play; one of those matches was a 3-2 overtime loss to USU Eastern. The Lizards most recently earned a 4-0 non-conference victory over Napa Community College.
Salt Lake will play its match at Truckee Meadows Community College Saturday at 1:00 p.m. SLCC's next scheduled home match is on October 10 versus the College of Southern Nevada.
