Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 21, 2019) - The No. 5 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team is continuing to defend its 2018 Region 18 championship with pride, earning key victories over regional opponents week-after-week.
Chalk this week up as another example of that as the Bruins followed up a tie with No. 7 Snow College Thursday by earning a 5-0 road win over the College of Southern Nevada Saturday, with CSN currently receiving votes in national polls. The win boosts SLCC's overall record to 4-0-1 and 2-0-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
Cassidy Adams got SLCC on the board in the 20th minute, scoring on an unassisted goal to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead.
Hannah Lee followed up with a goal in the 32nd minute to help Salt Lake to a 2-0 lead. A goal by
Baylie Saunders and another Adams goal stretched the SLCC lead to 4-0 midway through the second half. FInally,
Kaytlyn Larsen scored the clinching goal for SLCC.Â
SLCC finished with a 21-11 edge in shots, with a 13-5 advantage in shots-on-goal. Bruins goalie Siuana Pauli made 4 saves in the match.Â
The Bruins will travel to play newly-minted Scenic West member Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno next weekend. Salt Lake's next home match is scheduled for Thursday, October 10 against the College of Southern Nevada.Â
