No. 13 SLCC Women's Soccer, No. 14 SLCC Men's Soccer exact revenge over Paradise Valley to open 2019 season

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 22, 2019) - All offseason, the No. 13 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team had to think about their NJCAA tourney loss to Arizona's Paradise Valley Community College, thinking of how the Bruins came so close to advancing to the NJCAA tourney in Florida for the first time in school history.

That time away thinking seemed to benefit the Bruins as they were all business in the season opener at Paradise Valley, opening the 2019 season with a dominating 5-0 win over the Pumas to begin the season at 1-0. Paradise Valley was ranked at No. 11 in the NJCAA preseason polls entering Thursday's match.

SLCC wasted no time in dominating the match, taking a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute. The Bruins would score again in the 52nd minute, followed up by scoring another goal just minutes later to take a 3-0 lead. Salt Lake added two more goals late in the match, securing the dominating victory.

With one match in the books, the Bruins will play another on Saturday as they travel to Tucson to play Pima Community College at 9:00 a.m. Salt Lake's home opener at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman is scheduled for Sept. 12 in the Scenic West opener against in-state rival USU Eastern.
