TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 6, 2019) -
The grind of the 2019 regular season will shift away for the No. 15 Salt Lake Community College volleyball program this week as the Bruins prepare to open the postseason on Friday.

Salt Lake will open the tournament with Colorado Northwestern Community College, playing a 1:00 p.m. match on Friday in the Region 18 tournament. The tourney is being hosted by top-seeded Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. SLCC is the No. 4 seed in the tournament.

Bruins coach Sue Dulaney said her team is excited for the upcoming challenge of the region tourney and the postseason.

"Everyone brings their 'A' game to the region tourney and we have to respond," she said. "We are the underdogs, so the battle is real. It is going to take a collective effort to get the title of Region 18 champions."

During the regular season, Salt Lake went 2-0 against Colorado Northwestern, sweeping the match in both appearances. The Bruins finished the Scenic West Athletic Conference season on a two-match losing streak, falling to Snow College and to Southern Idaho. SLCC had an overall record of 22-10 in the regular season and a mark of 5-5 in the Scenic West. CNCC finished with a record of 2-8 in Scenic West play, beating Southern Nevada on both occasions.

The winner of the SLCC-CNCC match will face No. 5 Snow, who finished the season by going a perfect 10-0 in Scenic West play. The Badgers are currently 30-2 entering the Region 18 tourney. The semifinal match featuring Snow and the winner of the SLCC-CNCC match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
