TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 28, 2019) – The No. 16 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team will take the floor for the final week of the regular season this week, playing a single non-conference match and a home match against the defending national champions.

The No. 16 Bruins will face off against Western Wyoming Community College in a road match on Tuesday in Rock Springs, Wyo., while returning home for a Saturday match with the College of Southern Idaho. Salt Lake is also positioning for seeding in next week's Region 18 tournament, with the Bruins sitting in a tie for the third spot after Saturday's loss to Snow.

Sue Dulaney said the importance of finishing the regular season strong isn't lost on her players.

"We have our work cut out for this week as we're tied for the third seed in the region," she said. "We are fully capable of grabbing it but we need to cut down our hitting errors. We will be pumped and ready to battle on Saturday as it's our last conference match and it's 'Sophomore Day'.

Tuesday's road match at Western Wyoming will be the third time the two teams have played this season, with SLCC splitting the matches to this point. Salt Lake has likewise had its struggles against Southern Idaho, falling in a 3-0 sweep to the Golden Eagles on the road on Oct. 12.

In terms of Region 18 tourney seeding, Snow has earned the top seed and will host next week's championships. The remaining seeds of 2-4 will be decided between USU Eastern, Salt Lake and Southern Idaho. Southern Nevada and Colorado Northwestern are battling for the last seeds.

Salt Lake's match with Western Wyoming will begin on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in Rock Springs. Saturday's 'Sophomore Night' match against Southern Idaho will be played at 1:00 p.m.Â
