No. 5 SLCC Women's Soccer to finish season on Friday

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 17, 2019) - The No. 5 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer team has already claimed the Scenic West Athletic Conference regular-season title but the Bruins still have much to do in the season-ending match Friday.

The Bruins will host Truckee Meadows Community College in the program's annual 'Sophomore Day' festivities on Friday. SLCC is a league-best 10-0-1 overall and 8-0-1 in league play, with a six-match winning streak on the line.

Now, the program's focus is on finishing the regular season with momentum, SLCC coach Mark Davis said.

"We put ourselves in the best position possible," he said. "Our team has clinched a conference title while being undefeated with one match left on Friday. We are optimistic and can't wait for the regional tournament."

SLCC had an impressive performance against Truckee Meadows, earning a 2-1 win in Reno. TMCC has been impressive in their first season of existence, finishing with a 2-7 record in league play. The Lizards are fifth in league play.

Salt Lake will host Truckee Meadows at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. The Region 18 championships, which SLCC will host, are scheduled for Oct. 31 through November 1.
