Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 29, 2018) - The No. 16 Salt Lake Community College women's soccer program has been capable of big offensive outings all season long.
The Bruins have won by multiple goals several times throughout the season, shutting out opponents seven times previous to Saturday's series finale against the College of Southern Nevada. With league implications in the balance, SLCCÂ earned a dominating 5-0 win over the Coyotes, moving to 4-1-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
The score was tied at 0-0 through the entire first half, with Salt Lake's offensive attack primed for a second-half flurry.
Sarah Spencer put SLCC on the board in the 42nd minute of the half, with
Samantha Tippetts giving the Bruins a 2-0 lead just minutes later.
Zoe Moses added to her impressive season offensively with a goal in the 53rd minute, and Spencer picked up her second goal of the day just 24 seconds later.
Kamryn Worthington got the final goal of the day in the 65th minute, with Moses providing the assist.
Spencer and Tippetts led Salt Lake with three shots-on-goal, with
Baylie Saunders leading the Bruins with two assists. SLCC goalie McKena Eaves had four saves in the match.Â
Salt Lake will have time to celebrate the victory, with their next match coming on October 11 against Colorado Northwestern. The matchup will take place at Zions Bank Stadium.Â
