No. 3 Salt Lake eases by Southern Nevada in series finale

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 29, 2018) - For the No. 3 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer program, winning is the goal, regardless of how it looks.

The Bruins have returned to their strong form, picking up two consecutive league victories over the College of Southern Nevada - a program that has been receiving votes in the NJCAA polls all season. Salt Lake earned a narrow win Friday evening against the Coyotes, following it up with a 1-0 victory over CSN on Saturday at Zions Bank Stadium. The win raises Salt Lake's overall record to 12-1, with a record of 7-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.

In a defensive battle, it was Salt Lake's Innocent Twishime who broke the scoreless tie in the 57th minute, picking up a goal on a Jackson Brady assist. Both teams were nearly dead-even in offensive categories, with a 9-9 tie in shots between the teams. Defensively, SLCC goalie Isaac Roy had four saves to lift the Bruins to the win.

Salt Lake will enjoy a much-needed rest over the coming weeks, with the Bruins off until a matchup against Colorado Northwestern on October 11.
