The Bruins have returned to their strong form, picking up two consecutive league victories over the College of Southern Nevada - a program that has been receiving votes in the NJCAA polls all season. Salt Lake earned a narrow win Friday evening against the Coyotes, following it up with a 1-0 victory over CSN on Saturday at Zions Bank Stadium. The win raises Salt Lake's overall record to 12-1, with a record of 7-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
In a defensive battle, it was Salt Lake's
Innocent Twishime who broke the scoreless tie in the 57th minute, picking up a goal on a
Jackson Brady assist. Both teams were nearly dead-even in offensive categories, with a 9-9 tie in shots between the teams. Defensively, SLCCÂ goalie
Isaac Roy had four saves to lift the Bruins to the win.
Salt Lake will enjoy a much-needed rest over the coming weeks, with the Bruins off until a matchup against Colorado Northwestern on October 11.Â
