Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 28, 2018) - Home sweet home wasn't just a phrase for the No. 3 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team; instead, it was a prophecy.
The Bruins were able to return home after a tough weekend at in-state rival Snow College and returned home with fire, earning a 2-1 victory over the College of Southern Nevada. Salt Lake finished with an 18-10 edge in shots-on-goal, leading to the victory.
It was Southern Nevada who opened the match offensively, scoring a goal early in the 18th minute to take a 1-0 lead. However, as has happened so many times during the season,
Enoch Mushagalusa powered the Bruins through the adversity, scoring both of SLCC's goals. His first goal came in the 54th minute, tying the match at 1-1. Then, with 73:50 on the clock, Mushagalusa took a pass from
Luke Merrill and found the back of the net to give Salt Lake the go-ahead goal.
Salt Lake will host Southern Nevada on Saturday at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. The Bruins and Coyotes will play at 1:00 p.m.
