Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 22, 2018) - Two matches in and the No. 5 Salt Lake Community College volleyball team is right on track in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
The Bruins rolled to 2-0 in league play, earning a 3-0 victory over Colorado Northwestern Community College (25-13, 25-10, 25-22). The victory moves Salt Lake's overall record to 18-1 and a record of 13-1 in matches played away from the Wasatch Front.
SLCCÂ controlled the match from the beginning, earning a 36-25 advantage in kills.
Dawson Day finished with 10 kills to lead the Bruins, while
Bruna Correa finished with 5 kills. Salt Lake also had one of its better days serving, with the team committing only 2 errors in the match.Â
Correa finished with 29 assists, while
Hellen Lacava led the Bruins with 13 digs. SLCC libero
Callie Whitney finished with 10 digs.
Salt Lake will return home for its league home opener next weekend, with the program hosting nationally-ranked Snow College on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Bruins will also play Southern Nevada at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.Â
