Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 14, 2018) - Things were going along just swimmingly for the No. 4 Salt Lake Community College volleyball program in a tourney hosted by Southern Nevada.
The Bruins picked up a 3-0 victory (25-16, 26-24, 25-17) over Yavapai College, stretching their overall record to 14-0. However, SLCCÂ ran into a hot team in the evening, facing No. 10 Seward County Community College. Salt Lake fell for the first time in that match, losing 0-3 (25-15, 25-16, 29-27) to see their record drop to 14-1 at the end of the night.Â
Salt Lake will play two more matches Saturday, facing off against Western Nebraska Community College and Arizona Western College. SLCC's next home match will come on Sept. 28 against Snow College.
Salt Lake 3, Yavapai 0: Salt Lake powered by with a strong offensive performance.
Hellen Lacava finished with 14 kills to leave the Bruins, while
Ariane Pola have 12 kills. The Bruins finished with a hitting percentage of .505 as a team in the match.
Callie Whitney finished with 21 digs to lead the team.
Seward County 3, Salt Lake 0: SLCCÂ struggled offensively, holding a hitting efficiency percentage of just .113 in the match.
