TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 27, 2018) - The Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team is in unheard-of territory as a program.
The Bruins are receiving votes in national polls, and are also sitting at 2-0 after a pair of strong non-conference wins over Western Nebraska Community College and Northeastern Junior College. Now its on SLCC to stretch the momentum, especially with a three-match week ahead.
Salt Lake will host Utah Valley University's club program on Tuesday, followed up by a matchup with Trinidad State College on Friday at 5:00 p.m. The Bruins will close the week with a Sunday afternoon match against Sheridan College, with a 2:00 p.m. start. All of the matches will be played at Zions Banks Stadium.
"We had a strong start to the season," said Bruins coach
Mark Davis. "The goal for us now is to continue to improve our play, while also improving our conditioning, with a multi-match week ahead. I like our trajectory."
This weekend will serve as the end of the preseason as the Bruins start their Scenic West Athletic Conference season on Sept. 7 at Colorado Northwestern. Salt Lake will play its first home conference match on Sept. 14 against USU Eastern.Â
