Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 24, 2018) - The No. 15 Salt Lake Community College volleyball program is committed to making the absolute best of their 2018 campaign.

After a strong training camp, Salt Lake entered a four-match tournament in Casper, Wyo., with energy, enthusiasm and excitement. The Bruins showcased all three of those emotions, and more, as they swept a Friday doubleheader over Sheridan College (25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20) and Casper College (25-14, 25-17, 25-22). 

SLCC will play another pair of matches Saturday, with scheduled contests against Northeastern Junior College and Northwest College. The Northeastern match will start at 9:00 a.m., while the Northwest match will start at 1:00 p.m. 

Salt Lake 3, Sheridan 1: The Bruins powered to a 3-1 victory over Sheridan College in their season-opening match.

SLCC powered to a 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20 victory thanks to strong overall play. Hellen Lacava and Ariane Pola combined for 26 kills in the match, with Lacava hitting .260. Lacava also led the Bruins with 11 digs in the match.

Salt Lake 3, Casper 0: SLCC controlled early and never looked back in a sweep of host Casper College.

Lacava led the Bruins in kills with 10, earning a double-double with kills and 10 assists. Bruins freshman Bruna Correa led the team with 23 assists. 

Salt Lake finished the match with a 38-23 advantage in kills, and posted just 11 errors over the three sets.
