Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 17, 2018) - The No. 14 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer team is still in the driver's seat when it comes to the Scenic West Athletic Conference's title.
The Bruins earned a 0-0 tie against in-state foe Snow College on Sophomore Day at Zions Bank Stadium Wednesday, finding a way to survive the back-and-forth nature of a SWAC regular-season match with many different implications. The tie leaves SLCC with an overall record of 13-2-1, and a league record of 8-2-1.
If there were individual honors to be earned, SLCC goalie
Isaac Roy would most likely be the most deserving Bruin, as he finished the match with four critical saves. Three of Roy's stops came in the overtime period. Similarly, the Badgers limited the Bruins as SLCC finished with just nine shots in the match and no shots in overtime.
With one more match remaining in the Scenic West for Salt Lake, the Bruins sit a game in front of Snow and 1.5 games ahead of Southern Nevada in the race for the Scenic West title. Salt Lake can clinch the regular-season title with a victory over USU Eastern Friday in Price, or with a loss for Snow and CSN in their season finales.
The Bruins will play at USU Eastern on Friday at 3:00 p.m. A recap of the match will be available later that night on www.slccbruins.com.Â
