Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 11, 2018) - After an extended break, the No. 2 Salt Lake Community College men's soccer could have had a problem reestablishing the momentum that lifted them throughout the first part of the season.
Instead, the Bruins took the option of picking up where they started, earning a dominant 9-0 victory over Colorado Northwestern Community College. The victory puts Salt Lake at 13-1 on the season, with a record of 8-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
The match was another breakout party for
Enoch Mushagalusa, as the Bruin star finished with five goals. Salt Lake scored their first goal with 7:58 on the clock, as
Juan Manuel Araque put SLCC on the board. Mushagalusa gave Salt Lake a 2-0 lead in the 12th minute with a goal, with
Brajdi Cekrezi earning his first of two assists.
The Bruins dominated the match, finishing with 30 shots. SLCC held a 30-3 edge in shots, along with a 10-0 advantage in shots-on-goal. However, Salt Lake goalie
Isaac Roy preserved the shutout with two saves.
