Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 22, 2017) – A highly-anticipated SWAC opener between two nationally-known teams in Salt Lake Community College and Snow College was expected to be a high-powered shootout.

Instead, it was a controlling victory for the visiting Snow College Badgers, as SC earned a 3-1 win (25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 25-22) over the eighth-ranked Bruins. Salt Lake was riding a five-match winning streak entering the match, including besting nationally-ranked Seward County. Now, the Bruins will hope for a Saturday matchup with College of Southern Nevada to regain momentum.

In a tough match for both squads, Snow College bested the Bruins with a better hitting percentage (.231-.201), assists (50-47) and also led in kills (58-55). While the match scores were close, the Badgers were able to control the match's key moments Friday.

To'a Faleao led the Bruins with 18 kills, with
Lia Finau finishing with 15 kills.
Alexus Desmarais led SLCC with 18 digs, as
Laken Te'o contributed 25 assists.
