Bruin men's soccer falls on road to USU-Eastern

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 15, 2017) – After a strong start to SWAC play, the 16th-ranked Salt Lake Community College Bruin men's soccer program had a set-back Friday in Utah's Color Country.

The Bruins entered a matchup with in-state rival USU-Eastern with hopes of moving to 3-0 in SWAC play, only to see that dream dashed as the Golden Eagles earned a 5-2 win over the Bruins. The loss sets Salt Lake's record at 4-2-1.

Salt Lake held a 23-7 advantage in shots-on-goal, but the Golden Eagles made their attempts count. The Bruins got as close as 3-2 in the 78th minute, after an Alex Jaimez goal, but two quick USU-Eastern goals gave the Golden Eagles an insurmountable advantage. Jaimez finished with two goals.

The two teams will play on Saturday, with an 11:00 a.m. match on the schedule.
